The original Make America Health Again Commission report raised concerns about the potential negative effects of glyphosate and other pesticides on children’s health. However, the upcoming MAHA Commission report is set to take a different approach.
According to a high-ranking Environmental Protection Agency official who spoke at the American Sugar Alliance’s International Sweetener Symposium, the next report will align with regulatory findings that have determined glyphosate is safe to use.
Nancy Beck, deputy administrator for the EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Protection, noted that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins are both members of the Commission.
Beck, who has significant experience in both government and the private sector, told ASA members that she could not disclose the details of the forthcoming report, which is anticipated soon. “We do know that pesticides are vital tools,” Beck said.
