Markets have kept a close eye on the weather this week, with the outlook looking relatively uneventful into mid-August. Some areas are expected to see warmer temperatures, while others remain under the ridge and could pick up additional rainfall.

Weather concerns in Europe remain on traders’ radar as well, while escalating tensions in the Black Sea region continue to weigh on the wheat market and raise questions about global grain supplies.

In the cattle market, cash trade became more active yesterday, with business reported across all regions mostly at $235, up from $233 last week. The stronger cash trade provides some support to the market as traders continue to watch beef demand and supplies heading into late summer.
