The U.S. Department of Agriculture is continuing to accept applications for its upcoming agribusiness trade mission to Manila, Philippines, scheduled for April 13–16. The mission is designed to connect U.S. agricultural exporters with buyers in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing economies. Exporters interested in exploring trade opportunities in the Philippines’ expanding food and agriculture market must submit applications by Friday, January 9.
USDA officials say the trade mission will provide participating companies with direct access to key Philippine importers, distributors, and government officials, while also offering on-the-ground market briefings and networking opportunities. The Philippines’ strong demand for imported food and agricultural products has made it an increasingly important destination for U.S. exporters seeking to diversify markets and expand sales.
“USDA agricultural exporters have an abundance of new opportunities in the Philippines,” said Luke Lindberg, USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. “This trade mission will connect U.S. producers with key buyers in the Philippines, expanding economic opportunities, supporting rural prosperity, and keeping American agricultural products globally competitive.”
The Philippines ranks as the ninth-largest market for U.S. agricultural and food exports, with shipments averaging $3.6 billion annually over the past five years. U.S. suppliers currently lead the market for food and beverage products in the country, supported by long-standing trade relationships and strong consumer demand.
USDA officials note that the timing of the mission is significant, as 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and the Philippines. The milestone underscores the depth of the bilateral relationship and highlights opportunities to further strengthen agricultural trade ties between the two nations.
